For nearly 20 years The Foxglove has been a staple of Kirkburton, providing people with an authentic country pub experience. Built around 1864, it was originally known as the Railway Junction Inn due to the anticipation of a proposal in 1864 to construct a railway extension from Barnsley to a junction with the London and North West Railway. In 2000 it was renamed as The Foxglove having previously been renamed The Three Owls. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the great range of cask ales, wines and spirits in the bar. We also have accommodation available if you feel like extending your stay with us â our rustic rooms are perfect if you fancy a country escape. Whether youâre out walking your dog or just exploring the local area, thereâs always plenty to do around The Foxglove. The Foxglove's pretty gardens and leafy surroundings attract many visitors, and it's a favourite with railway enthusiasts too. It was built in anticipation of a rail London rail link - Kirkburton is as far as it got! One of the quirkier things to visit when you come to Kirkburton is the Last of the Summer Wine tour. Filmed in nearby Holmfirth the popular sitcom was a huge hit and the tour is definitely worth a visit for fans of the show! The Yorkshire sculpture park and coal mining museum are another two attractions that weâd recommend you go to on your visit.
